Weather aberrations continue to make news. While snowstorms are blanketing the central and northeastern portions of the USA, California—the source of much of the fruits and vegetables for America—is still in the grip of a severe, multi-year drought. In the Southern Hemisphere, São Paulo, Brazil, is suffering the worst drought in decades, and residents storing water in open containers have created ideal conditions for mosquitoes that are spreading dengue fever and chikungunya disease, while in Chile, a volcanic eruption has forced the evacuation of some 3,000 people. Here in Charlotte, Dr. Meredith has been holding meetings and has written a Spring Holy Day letter that is being mailed this week.
