This weekend, many people around the world will observe Valentine’s Day in one way or another. While some scoff at the connection between Valentine’s Day and the ancient Roman observance of Lupercalia, the Encyclopedia Britannica makes a definite connection. It says, “[Valentine’s Day] also had origins in the Roman festival of Lupercalia, held in mid-February. The festival, which celebrated the coming of spring, included fertility rites” (Britannica.com, “Valentine’s Day”). One of the tasks of the true Church of God is to tell the world the truth about the pagan origins of its holidays. And to teach the real Holy Days of the Bible! Members only.
