We are certainly living in a changing world. This past week an American judge temporarily jailed a clerk who refused to issue a marriage license to two homosexuals because it was against her religious convictions. America has a long history of guaranteeing religious freedom. So it is astonishing to see a woman jailed for practicing something that is explicitly stated in the Bible, and which used to be the law of the land here in America, a country that once professed “In God we trust.”
