Sabbath Salutations 12232011
Greetings and Sabbath Salutations! I hope you have had a profitable week and that you are appreciative for another day of rest given to us by our Creator. What a blessing it is to have this day away from the pressures and stress of our daily routine. Still, we see around us, during this time of year, the hysteria of a day celebrated the world over, yet the origins of which are acknowledged only by the few. We in God’s Church have the precious opportunity to be called now and to keep the days that God has intended for man to keep for millennia. What a privilege!
In the video tonight I spend some time thinking through the tremendous calling and purpose we have in God’s Church. And, amid the political fervor in the news these days, I also mention the question that has been asked in the church for decades, “Who would Jesus vote for?” The answer the church has given over the decades is, obviously, no one! Jesus would not vote and He would not involve Himself in the political scene of this world. At times, we may find that we have been consuming too much of this political news. When that happens, we need to step back, turn off the TV, or relax the amount that we are reading online, and commit ourselves to focus our energies toward more spiritually beneficial activities.
