Sabbath Salutations 03182011
Greetings and Sabbath Salutations! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week! I also hope you have made time to go out doors and soak up the sunshine. Spring is knocking at the door and that means God’s Holy Days are right around the corner. I hope you are preparing, through bible study and prayer, to arrive spiritually at God’s Holy Days ready, zealous, and with a willing heart to learn more of God’s precious truth.
With Passover coming upon us quickly (after sunset on April 17, less than a month away!) we should be in an attitude of self-examination. Self-examination is a vital component to maintaining a sound spiritual condition. To not examine ourselves we can very easily slip into old ways of thinking and the result: lethargy, compromise, and spiritual indifference.
These are dangerous attitudes to fall into and our continual, prayerful, and zealous self-examination can keep our attitude positive, purposeful, and powerful. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Tim 1:7). One translation renders this, “For God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and discipline” (2 Tim 1:7 (ASV). Through a disciplined approach to all we do, including self-examination we can forge ahead in our Christian walk with God, truly overcoming, growing, and putting all behind us that does not agree with the sound-minded words of scripture.
I wanted to share those thoughts with you tonight, as well as provide the Sabbath Salutations video. (Sorry so shaky…at least the wind was cooperating!) Enjoy! – Adam West
